Instant, Easy Beach Waves with Best New Hair Gadget!

I love to style my hair with loose waves so was thrilled when I found a new "curling iron" that is easy to use and does all the work for you.

This new hair gadget, the Infiniti Pro by Conair Curl Secret retails for $99.99 and is worth the investment if you want to add instant waves to your hair without heading over to the salon for a professional blow dry and style. Watch the how-to video below to see how simple it is to use.

Before: Freshly washed and blow-dried hair.

After: I just used the Infiniti Pro by Conair Curl Secret. I like my waves loose so used the medium setting.

If you would like tight curls, make sure the iron is on the hottest setting and that your hair is freshly washed and dried.

Here are some tips for best results.

  • Wait for red blinking light to remain solid before starting
  • Comb through clean, dry hair so it is smooth and free of tangles and work with 1/2" - 1" sections (longer hair requires smaller sections)
  • Position hair in unit with the opening of curl chamber facing towards head
  • Close handles, hair will be automatically drawn into the curl chamber
  • Hold until a rapid beep signals curl is ready. Open to release curl (do not pull out the curl with the iron).

Mani Mania: A Blue You, Essie's Emmy Pre-Party & Celeb Nails

Last Friday, I was invited to an event by Essie to celebrate the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy awards. The event took place at the Hotel Bel Air with champagne, hors d'oeuvres and complimentary manis from the manicurists who did several celebs for the awards.  I discovered my favorite new deep, dark blue color there, "After School Boy Blazer."

Choices, choices! Essie has lots of them.

Nails are short with rounded corners. Essie makes the best deep, dark blue color for Fall, After School Boy Blazer, $8.00

Met some fabulous LA ladies at the event.  Stacy Cox of Pampered People and Romy Schorr of Romy Raves.

Freshly manicured nails with Essie's After School Boy Blazer, $8.00

The Leading Ladies of Hollywood were Painted Pretty by Essie at the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

My favorite Essie celeb manicures included Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Connie Britton, Jessica Pare and Christina Hendricks.

Actress: Julia Louis-Dreyfus

essie shade:  blushing bride ($8/www.essie.com)

Inspiration: “essie’s blushing bride – a perfect flush of pale pink – was a flawless, rosy shade to compliment Julia’s silver, structured Monique Lhuillier gown,” said Celebrity Manicurist, Emi Kudo.

Actress: Connie Britton

essie shades: go overboard ($8/www.essie.com) and luxe effects as gold as it gets($8/www.essie.com)

Inspiration: “We wanted to create something fun and edgy so started with a coat of essie’s go overboard, then applied essie’s luxe effects in as gold as it gets on the tips, fading down onto the base of the nail, for a glamorous take on the French tip,” said Celebrity Manicurist, Beth Fricke.

Actress: Jessica Pare

essie shade: brooch the subject ($8/www.essie.com)

Inspiration: “We used essie’s brooch the subject for Jessica’s nails to compliment her stunning, turquoise dress. The final look was classic Hollywood,” said Celebrity Manicurist, Lisa Postma.

Actress: Christina Hendricks

essie shades: stylenomics ($8/www.essie.com) and skirting the issue ($8/www.essie.com)

Inspiration: “To keep Christina’s nails looking dark and edgy, without fading into her black dress, we layered essie’s stylenomics and skirting the issue for a glamorous and unassuming look that popped against her gorgeous, emerald accessories,” said Celebrity Manicurist, Lisa Postma.

Mani Monday: Best Oxblood Shade for Fall Nails

Time to put away the pastel nail colors now and update your look for Fall. Try wearing one of the latest cool shades like OPI's "In the Cable Car-Pool Lane." I am not usually a "red" person but found this one very flattering...it's the perfect deep red with purple undertones.
