Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Milly Spring 2014

I loved the Milly by Michelle Smith show and found the collection this year to be less preppy-girl. Again, we are seeing lots of black and white, cut outs, midriff tops.

For Spring 2014, Michelle Smith, founder and designer of MILLY, constructs an ultramodern interpretation of traditionally feminine silhouettes with the use of three-dimensional technical fabrics, layered transparency and architectural illusions.

Drawing inspiration from perforated facades found in contemporary Japanese architecture during a recent trip to Tokyo, Smith's laser cutting techniques and sculptural silhouettes lay the groundwork for a collection that plays with the eye and unveils the female form in unexpected proportions. Smith's custom-made prints, based on Japanese and Hawaiian florals and engineered in luxurious European fabrics, pop against a palette of black and white.

The Timo Weiland fashion show took place at the uber chic Milk Studios in downtown NY. Models rocked the runway in some of the best trends for spring. Again we see lots of feminine styles including cutouts, pretty prints and fun, geometric patterns. Take a peek at some of my favorite looks below.

I am a huge fan of 3.1 Phillip Lim's chic line of clothing and accessories. Many of his pieces can be a bit pricey so I am super excited about the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collaboration. Featuring both men's and women's apparel and accessories (including shoes and bags), the collection ranges in price from $19.99-$299.99 and will be available at most Target stores on Sunday, September 15th. I can't wait to head over there this weekend to try and nab my fave pieces. Below are some of the looks I'm most excited about!
