Winter is a long season so we all could use some new key pieces to spruce up our wardrobe. Ever look in your closet and feel like you have nothing to wear? No worries--you can update your winter wardrobe with some of the classic and trendy pieces below. These two looks were created with nine items that can be mixed and matched with your current favorites or worn as shown.

Winter brings the opportunity to mix different textures together. Here I am wearing this chic Topshop faux fur vest with my favorite faux leather pants from Blank NYC. This vest is light-weight enough to wear under a winter coat. I finished off the look with edgy studded booties from Topshop. All of these pieces are well priced!
Every woman should have a comfy boyfriend sweater. I love this super soft one from Rag & Bone.
look 2 outfit details
This faux fur coat from Zadig & Voltaire is another versatile piece that can be dressed up or down. Wear during the day with a sweater and jeans or at night with a dress and heels.
Bella Dahl makes amazingly soft flannels that are feminine and perfect for layering. I love how this pattern complements a monochromatic look. This Current/Elliot 'Skinny Mini' leather skirt is a great go-to piece when you are not in the mood for jeans or a dress. A leather skirt can be worn with tights and high boots for cold winter days (and used again in the Spring with bare legs as shown).
I decided to "top off" this outfit with a wide brimmed fedora from Rag & Bone. Adding a hat enhances any look and can make your favorite outfit feel completely new.
