I’ve had a shoe fetish for as long as I can remember, so my collection has definitely grown over the years. These days, I’ve been wearing most of my tried and true styles on rotation - comfortable yet stylish choices that I gravitate towards over and over again.
In the latest feature for Who What Wear, titled We’re Moms That Run Around a Lot- These 7 Shoes are Comfy and Chic, Janet Gunn, The Grateful Gardenia, and I took inventory of our favorite footwear basics. Even though these styles are super comfy, they are also chic and versatile. Check out the must-have styles we are loving below.

SNEAKERS
The comfiest shoe to wear any time, especially walking around town. I like to throw on a stylish pair with cropped jeans, long dresses, and skirts.
SLINGBACKS
One of my favorite feminine looks is the sling-back with a kitten or block heel. They never seem to go out of style, and they are the perfect transitional shoe. Wear with everything from skirts to jeans or trousers!
BIRKENSTOCK STYLE
Fashion meets function when you rock a classic pair of Birkenstocks, especially when paired with a nice pant or skirt. Gone are the days of associating this style with crunchy granola. Budget tip: Buy the waterproof ones in black for under $45 as they can pass as the expensive, shiny-leather designer ones.
SLIDES
Roam slides are one of the coolest Cali-chic styles that take me from hanging in the house to running errands. They basically go with everything in my wardrobe which is why I have them in 5 different styles (check them out here). I’ve literally been living in them for several months now!
MULES
Mules are a classic and always a great stylish basic! I like to wear this style with a low heel and in fun animal prints.
OXFORD
A powerful footwear style borrowed from the boys, I love a classic Oxford that exudes confidence and strength.
BOOTS
Boots always help me put my best foot forward whether I’m wearing skirts or pants—my go-to footwear from fall through winter. Classic black and flat are always must-haves, as is a western-boot style or a chunky heel or sole.
SQUARE TOE
A fun trend for this season is the square-toe shoe. This wildly popular look gives your shoe collection the update its been needing this year and these are good to wear while the weather is still warm! I love these strappy one by By Far and have my eye on some cute boots with square-toes as well.
LOAFER
Comfort meets style with this timeless classic! Whether worn flat or with a block heel to get a bit of extra height, is there anything that a loafer can’t be worn with these days?
I hope you love our comfy, chic shoe picks, and find some new styles to shop and add to your wardrobe. After all, a glow girl can never have too many pairs of shoes!
