Michael and I are super busy, and even though we both work from home, we still seem to be two ships passing in the night. To break this habit, we decided to incorporate a new ritual for a standing Thursday date (a #ThursDate!) to do something fun and creative together. This week, we ordered a Harry & David gift basket using our AARP Member Benefits, and it was amazing! Not only did we enjoy the most delicious nibbles but we were also able to relax outside, and actually had time to catch up and even watch the sunset together!

Whether it be lobster night picnics on the beach, home movie nights, or catching up by the fire before a surprise home-cooked meal by my hubby, we are going to make sure Harry & David is always part of our #ThursDate! We will definitely be ordering many more gourmet gift baskets from them as they are also great for entertaining and for sending out to friends and family for the holiday season.
As AARP members, we get 20% off of Harry & David gourmet gifts, so we can spend less time thinking about which lite-bites and treats to serve, and more time together. We are going to try and make this a weekly ritual, given our busy schedules and our need for dedicated catch-up time. It felt great to unwind and spend some quality time together with a good charcuterie board and conversation!
There are so many great benefits to being an AARP member. We enjoy savings on travel, hotels, car services and of course, our date night treats with Harry & David. AARP’s mission is to empower people to choose how they live their lives as they age. Think of them as your new best friend, advocating for you, providing health and financial tools, and offering a myriad of other discounts and benefits. Yes please!
