I love changing up my fitness and wellness routines at the start of each new season. This fall, I am again turning to some of my favorite supplements from Thorne. I love freshly made guacamole and make it frequently. In addition to the healthy fats from the avocados, I add a healthy twist by adding a serving of Thorne’s Daily Greens Plus, which contains 28 mega-nutrients that promote physical endurance, cognitive performance, and cellular energy production. I’m all about making your calories count – and this recipe could not be more “nutrient dense.” And, what’s more – it’s delicious! I like to serve it with sliced jicama; a natural “prebiotic” that nourishes the healthy bacteria in your gut.
INGREDIENTS:
3 ripe avocados, peeled and cubed
1/3 cup regular or vegan mayonnaise
1 large tomato, finely diced
2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
Dash of hot chili pepper
Salt and pepper
1 scoop Thorne Daily Greens Plus
2 teaspoons pomegranate seeds
1 cup sliced jicama
DIRECTIONS:
Place avocado, mayonnaise, tomato, lime juice into bowl and mash coarsely into desired consistency (I like mine chunky!).
Add hot chili pepper and salt and pepper to taste.
Sprinkle pomegranate seeds on top.
Serve with jicama.
This is one of my favorite on-the-go breakfasts or post-workout protein snacks. Thorne’s Collagen Plus contains two types of hormone-free, grass-fed collagen that enhances the health of skin, hair, and nails. DIRECTIONS:
Mix all ingredients together.
Serve with your favorite fruit, seeds or low-sugar granola.
A perfect protein-boosted fall treat, using my favorite protein powder. Place all ingredients into a blender.
Blend until smooth.
