How to Score Current Valentino Rock Stud Pumps 30% off Retail

I have been eyeing several of the Valentino Rock Stud pumps for over a year now but did not want to spend over $1000 for a pair of new shoes. With a little bit of internet searching, I was able to find my dream pumps--yes, the high-heeled black patent leather ones that are in stores now at $1045 (about $1140 with tax) for $802. A 30% savings!

Here's the 411: You can order the pumps on FarFetch.com, my new favorite luxury designer shopping site. This European site aggregates the merchandise of fabulous independent boutiques from around the world and connects them to fashion lovers. Some other great things about this site...you don't pay tax in the US, the shipment arrives within a few days and returns are free.

Breaking in my new Valentino Rock stud pumps at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.  They are surprisingly comfortable and very light-weight on the foot.

Although the Valentino pumps were an investment piece for me, I love them so much and it feels good to get them at a discount. Who doesn't want a good deal at the end of the day?

Strutting in Strut: The Fashionable Mom Show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

Last week, I walked the runway in Strut: The Fashionable Mom Show that took place at Lincoln Center, home of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The amazing event was created three years ago by Melissa Musen Gerstein and Denise Albert of The Moms and Stephanie Winston Wolkoff of SWW Creative. According to The Moms, Strut is "a ridiculously stylish runway show featuring super chic moms from all walks of life." Sponsors included Cottonelle, Whirlpool and Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer.

Each mom struts for a charity or organization that is important to them. I walked for FARE (Food Allergy Research and Education) as both my children have life-threatening food allergies. It was an honor to strut on FARE's behalf along side other fabulous women like Darlene Rodriguez of NBC New York, Alexis Stoudemire, Laura Posada, Katina Taylor among others. Check out the pics and video from backstage to the runway!

Strutting the catwalk is no easy feat! My Mom told me to place one foot in front of the other and walk with good posture. Mom knows best!

Backstage Pass! My outfit is by the fabulous NY designer, Ramy Brook.  All the models were accessorized with EFFYJewelry

Hands in pockets, posture, one foot in front of the other. All good (at least from the outside...LOL)!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Alice + Olivia Spring 2014

I attended the Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet Spring 2014 Presentation at Highline stages with my good friend and Bravolebrity, Josh Flagg. The room was packed with top fashion bloggers and celebrities which made this fashion presentation feel like we were at an exclusive party (yes..there was a velvet rope at the door and a red carpet inside).

Once again, we are seeing a lot of black and white, crop tops, geometric patterns and girlie styles for Spring 2014. Stacey describes the collection: “It’s really about the juxtaposition of the prettiness and preppiness and each look is styled that way so it’s taking a really fancy white dress and pairing it with a preppy mint bag or taking a ball gown graphic skirt and wearing it with a really traditional preppy collared shirt. So it’s really playing with separates and sportswear in this romantic, pretty way.”

Some of my favorite looks below.
