As we age, the quality and the nature of our skin changes. Due to a loss of collagen, the wrinkles and loose skin are now our new canvas. However, there are makeup tricks that can achieve a more youthful appearance without looking like we are trying too hard.

1. Use Tinted Moisturizer With SPF For a Glowy Look

It's light, and won't gather in the creases. Blend well into the neck, so there is no tell-tale line. Don’t use a heavy foundation-- a caked face always adds years and calls even more attention to wrinkles.

2. Cover Dark Under Eye Circles

Be sure to use a concealer that’s creamy and natural with peach undertones to lessen the appearance of dark circles. Dab on the inner corner to open up and brighten the eye area.

3. Keep Your Eyes Big and Bright

Go light on the eyeliner. I like to use a bronze liner rather than brown or black because it accentuates any eye color. Always apply under the lash line (never inside) and in the outer corner of the upper lid.

4. Define Your Brows and Lashes

Lightly fill in brows and bare spots with a pencil or brow gel (the pencil by Ere Perez works well for all skin types and brow shades). Make sure they don’t look like they are drawn on as that is more aging. Apply a few coats of non-clumpy mascara, and add more to the outer lashes. Nothing says dragon-lady more than clumpy lashes.

5. Add Rosy Color to the Highs of Your Cheekbones

Remember when you had those naturally flushed cheeks at 16? Use a multi-stick instead of powder blush for an extra dewy glow--you can also use it on your lips for double duty.

6. Add Highlighter as Part of Your Regular Make-up Routine

Use a good highlighter to accentuate bone structure and give skin an added glow. I like to add to my brow bone and top of my cheek bones to create a gorgeous sheen. You can carry it in your bag for a refresh throughout the day!

7. Keep Your Lips Lush and Glossy

I like a dewy face down to the lips! Use a gloss or lip oil in neutral shades with a hint of pink for the most youthful lip. If you use a lip liner, it should be in the shade of your lips and be used to define them. Never outline your lips with a darker shade of liner. The right shade of dark lipstick can still be worn, depending on your skin tone, with a clear gloss on top!
