I learned this simple hair trick way back when I was living as an editor in NYC and was always looking to refresh my blow out and preserve my “hairdo” as long as possible. While I no longer get professional blow dries, I am still practicing this tried-and-true method to give my hair new life for the day.

Maintaining healthy hair is important to me—I’ve always thought of my hair as a big part of my physical identity so I really pay attention to the products I use to keep it in tip top shape. Since I’ve been getting a lot of questions regarding my hair care routine, I thought it would be helpful to put together a post sharing with you the exact hair products I use and why I love them.
Shampoos + Conditioners + Masks:
I happen to use a fair amount of Moroccanoil hair products because they combine quality cleansing and detangling formulas with antioxidant-rich argan oil. Two of my favorites from the line are the Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner. Did you know they are an award winning hair care brand with an intoxicating floral and amber scent? If you have not used their products, I am sure you’ve heard of them. Ever since I was introduced to this brand several years ago, I’ve been addicted! Living in LA, it’s easy for my hair to dry out, as it’s constantly exposed to the sun. I also use quite a bit of heat on my hair, not to mention my highlights! Moroccanoil’s shampoo and conditioner is specifically made to repair damaged hair and also helps bring that moisture back into my locks.
I also use Moroccanoil’s Restorative Hair mask once a week and leave it on my hair for 5-7 minutes before rinsing out. I usually use twice as much product on the ends and typically leave out the roots. (Tip: While you are waiting with the conditioner in your hair, do a full body exfoliation). I love this mask because it infuses protein directly into my strands, making my hair both stronger and smoother.

Other Shampoos/Conditioners I like:
I wash my hair three times a week and like to switch up my hair products so that it doesn’t get used to the same exact ingredients. In addition to Moroccanoil shampoos and conditioners, I also use Dry Bar’s On The Rocks Shampoo + Conditioner. Both of these products have activated charcoal that removes impurities and product buildup, so it’s perfect for my hair once a week! I also love Beauty With a Twist’s purple shampoo and use this once a week, as it prevents my highlights from looking brassy and helps maintain the brightness of their color. All of these shampoos and conditioners have incredible scents!
Brushes:
Investing in high quality brushes is a must if you’re trying to keep your hair healthy and strong. I’ve listed out my three favorites below.
The Mason Pearson Junior Mixture Nylon & Boar Bristle Hair Brush exfoliates the scalp while stimulating circulation to the hair follicles. I also really love The Original Detangling Hairbrush by Tangle Teezer. You can use both of these brushes on wet or dry hair.
The R+Co Round Brush 4, 2.6 Inch is what I use when I’m ready to blow out my hair! Using this brush while drying your hair will help add the perfect amount of volume to it. Plus, it’s great for adding body and achieving that silky smooth finish.
Styling Tools:
T3 Whirl Convertible Styling Wand- a wand that creates long-lasting tousled waves with different interchangeable wands that you can select depending on the type of wave or curl you are looking to achieve.
A lightweight blow-dryer with a digitally-controlled wide volume of air enhanced with negative ions to dry hair quickly for soft, healthy-looking results.
Conair's Infiniti Pro curling wand will put curl in your hair without the kinks by simply wrapping your strands around the barrel (always wrap the hair in the direction that is away from your face)! This heat-styling tool is priced right and is super easy to use.
Styling Products:
My go-to product before I blow dry my hair is the Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream. I apply this to my clean, damp hair (using more product on the ends) to protect it from all the heat styling tools I use regularly. This product is one of my favorites from the line because it’s like a hair moisturizer that de-frizzes and provides heat protection at the same time! It also helps with styling and leaves my hair feeling super soft while it hydrates and conditions! And, the scent is DREAMY!
I love the Detox Dry Shampoo by DryBar! I will use this in between washes to absorb oils and dirt but I’ll also use after I blow dry my clean hair for a little extra volume. They also make one that is great for brunettes and sprays on a bit darker than the original formula. Another favorite dry shampoo is from Ouai! I love it’s airy scent and the way it goes on clear!
I also use Joico Body Shake Texturizing Finisher and Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray in medium hold. Both of these products provide the perfect hold, add texture and volume while also fighting frizz.
I like to finish by adding a little bit of the Moroccanoil’s original formula on the ends of my hair to coat them so they look smooth and silky.
And there you have it! All my favorite hair products that I truly cannot live without!
I hope you all enjoyed this post! What are some of your favorite hair products? Please leave in comments.
