Women have specific needs compared to men when it comes to taking nutritional supplements and eating certain vitamin-rich foods. We all know that eating clean, organic, non-processed foods rich in vitamins is one of the best ways to maintain good health. Even if you have great eating habits, it can still be challenging to get all the vitamins and minerals needed from food alone to keep your body in optimal health.

You know that saying, "men get better with age?" Health-wise, that's not exactly true! Compared to women, men not only have shorter life expectancies but also tend to suffer from more health issues related to aging. So, the truth is, healthy aging advice is so important for both women and men. And the good news is there are things you and your partner can implement—even together—to mitigate the adverse health conditions associated with aging.
As part of Thorne's "Redefining Healthy Aging" campaign, and with Father's Day around the corner, I thought it would be a great time to share not only my tips for healthy aging, but my husband Michael's, too!

Through the years, I’ve learned the power of creating good habits. My daily schedule seems to be getting busier, so it’s important for me to add balance and start my morning with a routine that helps set the stage to be as productive as possible. When I heard Ritual was coming out with a new multivitamin, Essential for Women 50+, I was super excited to try them!
Knowing a bit about the brand, I had a feeling Ritual would fit in nicely with my own already established morning schedule consisting of setting a daily intention with a short meditation, doing some form of exercise, and drinking a hot cup of Rooibos tea.
The first thing that attracted me to the Ritual brand was their transparency — from the traceability of where each of their ingredients is actually sourced, to the information they share with their consumers — these easy to swallow capsules are gentle on my stomach and have a fresh minty smell. They are clean, vegan, non-gmo, gluten-free and backed by science to support aging from within!
I take two capsules each morning before I head out of the house to workout. They have a delayed-release so I never have to worry about feeling nauseous afterward, even when I take them on an empty stomach. This is key for me since I like to eat my first meal at noon.
Just like one of my morning power-walks, I want a multivitamin that is straightforward. Ritual contains nine ingredients in an easily absorbable form that my body can use to support the changes that come along with the aging process. These include Folate, Boron, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, Magnesium, Omega 3 DHA, Vitamin K2, and Vitamin B12.
I am mindful of how I start my day and about what I choose to put in my body. Even though I eat super healthy, it’s still challenging to get all the needed nutrients from food alone. Taking these new Ritual multivitamins made especially for women 50+ fills the gaps in my whole food diet.
I also love their subscription business model because I never find myself with an empty bottle. No matter how busy I am, they just show up at my door each month, keeping my daily habit on track to continue my wellness ritual. I love a routine and habits I can stick with no matter where I am or what the day ahead has in store for me!
